I have been doing this cool little thing called blogging for only a short time now, I think that I am coming up on about six or seven months and I really like it. It allows me to expose myself (hmmm. Odd choice of words) to more people who are in my market place then just throwing up a capture page and driving people to it.

But often, I go to my office, turn of that beautiful glowing screen with the plans of writing the most content filled and exciting piece of blogwork the industry has ever seen. But you know what? Sometimes I end up staring at the screen with my fingers on the keys waiting for the “magic” thought to come into my head.

If your anything like me, you take advantage of every training that you can possibly get you hands on, or maybe we should say eyes and ears because this is the digital age, and rarely does a product come as something that you can actually hold in your hand.

I feel like I know it all. Like I have learned from the best, everyday. Like I have soaked up a 7-figure education but don’t know how to put It into words. I feel sometimes like the past couple of years that I have dedicated myself to my industry have led up to this single blog post but I don’t even have a clue what to write about.

Isn’t it funny. All those courses you purchased. All those webinars that you listened to and missed your favorite shows like American Idol, House and maybe even old reruns of Three’s Company. You have spend every last penny on your education and developing your mindset, but still you can’t find one single thing that sounds interesting to write about?

Funny right?

Well not really. Every single person in this industry or another has the “mind mud” you know where you have all the thought of greatness and taking the ride of your life but you are stuck in the mud with no way out.

I wanted to share with you a way that I create inspiration for my posts. Maybe there are not always the best written posts, or the most correct English. But when did blogging really become about all that. It seems that too often we get wrapped up in what “the customer wants” or how to be more “attractive”. But really, blogging is all about expression of self and how you view the world and the industry that you love.

So here, I want to share with you my dumb little secret to coming up with new blog posts that I hope will keep you pumping out fresh new material for your readers….and if you don’t have any readers, will keep you working your future success as a blogger.

My little black book. I have a little black 5 inch notepad or actuall it is 4 ½ x 3 ¼ ( just read the front), that I carry in my pocket at all times. It is always there when I have a silly little idea. Last week I was listening to the Rush Limbaugh show and had a great idea…I will write it soon.

But the point is, that inspiration can strike at any time, and for most people the ability to write a blog post 24 hours a day is not really feasible. So. Get yourself a little black book. Mine is full of non-sense posts that really sounded good at the time, and some that could be the next viral explosion.

So be ready whenever inspiration strikes you…
Keywords are the lifeline of your content, and without them you are leaving it to chance that someone will actually stumble upon your content.

So how is it that all these SEO “gurus” (not really) go out there and actually find blog keywords, and keywords for all their other content that actually work?

Well it really depends on what your budget is. There are tons of different software’s and applications that can give you incredible amounts of data and help you find highly profitable blog keywords and content keywords at the click of a button.

But, if you are on an “SEO Budget” and just can’t afford those $100-$500 fancy pants tools, that is ok. Here is a very simple and effective way of finding out exactly what blog keywords are performing well for almost every keyword phrase you can think of in your head.

The best thing about this strategy that I love from the bottom of my heart is that it is 100% FREE and almost no one that I know knows of this little keyword cheat and if they do, they are keeping it all to themselves. Using this simple strategy, and my mixing it with Google Keyword Tool keywords, you should have enough blog keywords and ideas to last the lifetime of your business.

Here is the Video…

.
.

.
Here are the steps outlined in the video.

1. Go to Ezine Articles.
2. Type in the keyword phrase that you are trying to target.
3. Go to the top Article in that category/keyword phrase
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the article.
5. Find the “Most viewed in “ “ in last 60 days.
6. Click on the top article
7. Check the article to see is the view are very high.
(you will want to see if the blog keyword or content keyword is worth the time)
8. Right Click Your Mouse and select “view source”
9. Find this tag
10. Use those keywords as blog keywords and keywords for all your marketing content.

I got to having a phone conversation recently with a friend who is also a part of this great network marketing industry and the conversation was a little bit of strategy, a little bit of tools and just a little bit of friendly chat among friends.

One of the main topics of discussion was blogging. If you don’t know, I am rather new in the blogging phenomenon, but I have embraced it 100%. (Blogging is power and I don’t’ like to lose power J)

My friend is also fairly new to this ultra-powerful strategy also. By new I mean we have both put some serious time into our network marketing blogs, but by no means are we mad blogging scientists, maybe blogging middle school kids.

But the discussion was rather interesting as we started sharing some of the things that we were doing to get the most out of our marketing, more specifically the plug-ins that we were using. As you look at our blogs, although they are a part of the same industry, they are completely different in almost every aspect. On the front end as well as behind the curtain.

I want to share with some of the most important things that came out of this conversation that I am 100% positive will make a difference in the way that you handle your network marketing blogs now and in the future.

.

Here Goes…

.

First off, we are both very intrigued by the different plug-ins that currently available for FREE or just a few dollars that will help you take your business the next level. With almost completely opposite plug-ins on our blogs like I mentioned above, it was really great to share our thoughts on why we used what we used.

Here are five of of the plugins that I felt were most important when it comes to getting your blog setup right:

Google Analytics Plugin- This is in my opinion the hands down most important plug-in that you should have on your blog. Actually, you should have analytics installed on every website that you have on the internet.

What the Google Analytics Plug-in will do for your blog is track all of the traffic that is coming in. It will give you an in depth analysis (that word makes it sound complex, but it is not) of exactly what is going on in your blog such as: number of visitors, how the visitor arrived, how long they stayed, what pages they viewed, how many pages they viewed and most importantly if the visitor opted in to be on your mailing list.

Understanding the traffic that is arriving at you blog and what they are doing is as important as getting the traffic there in the first place. If you know what the readers like, and why they are there, you can continue to supply them the exact information that they are thirsty for.

All In One SEO Pack- This is a very simple plug-in that will allow you to optimize your blog for the search engines. Search engine optimization is so important when it comes to blogging. Sure you are going to get a good amount of your traffic from your followers, social media and word of mouth, but getting your blog to rank for specific keywords is a never ending source of highly targeted traffic. The all-in-one seo pack is a must have for Search Engine Optimization Marketing.

OnlyWire For Wordpress-This simple plug-in allows you to bookmark your blog post to numerous social media sites (around 26 at the time of this post) with the click of a button. If you are serious about blogging and you actually want your blog to be read, this is another must have.

Having your content bookmarked by so many sites will get you more visibility and the search engines will eat you up. With the Onlywire plug-in, you actually do have to go to Onlywire.Com and register for all the accounts that you want to post to, but once you do it once it works forever.

Google Friend Connect- This plugin is a super cool addition to your blog. It gives you the ability to have “members” of your blog community. In my opinion one of the biggest reasons to have this plug-in is what I call (some others may also) “Social Proof”. Which means that if someone comes to your blog and sees that there are other people who are interested in what you have to say, it makes them more interested.

It is really about the psychology of humans. Social proof is extremely powerful. By having a large group on your Google Friend Connect is it similar to having testimonials as each member of the group is giving you credit by being a member of the community.

Wordpress Greet Box- This is a relatively new addition to my blog and I am really loving it. What the greet box does is every time that a visitor arrives at your blog, it will give them a personal greeting that is customized to where they came from. **example** If you arrive at my blog from a link on Twitter.Com it will say, “Hello fellow Twitter user! Don’t forget to Twit this post if you like it, or follow me on Twitter if you find me interesting. “

If makes the user feel like you are directing the content directly with them, thus you are establishing more of a relationship with them. As simple as it seems, it will make your blog stand out in a big way.

Those five plug-ins will do so much for your network marketing blogs, so I highly suggest that you go and get them setup and tuned in right now. Remember that there are always new and innovative plug-ins coming into the industry, the key is to keep your eyes and ears open for easier more efficient way to make your blog stick in the minds of as many people as possible.
People search online for information and will look to you, as a subject matter expert, to provide it to them. Every week (or whatever schedule works) provides an opportunity to build on this, while reinforcing your brand.

2.Build a relationship with the people on your list. It’s common knowledge that people like to buy from people they like. By using ezines to connect with readers in their homes, you can develop a relationship of familiarity and trust. Be sure to share a little about yourself or your company in every issue, whether it is an anecdote, event, or employee spotlight.

3.Keep in touch with prospects and clients. Consideration should be given to eventually developing two ezines: one for prospects and one for clients, as each require different information. This is a great way to notify your readers of weekly specials or upcoming product launches, offer new articles or customer stories, and provide links (or urls) to updated FAQs, blogs and splash pages.

4.Drive traffic to your website or blog. As noted in #3, remember to call attention to new blog posts or other changes to your website with links directly to those pages. Remind readers of your online newsletter archives. Promote special sales (maybe with discount coupon codes only for subscribers) with a link to the sales page. Use links to turn your ezines and newsletters into “silent salespersons”– driving traffic to your website and building your lists around the clock.

5.Build content on your website. Make a habit to adding your ezines and newsletters to your website in an archive area. This serves a several important purposes:

•Visitors can read an issue or two to determine if your ezine will be of interest to them, which could help to increase sign-ups and potential sales.

•If you optimize your article placements, you will not only make your website “meatier”, but you’ll also bring new traffic from the search engines.

6.Get feedback from your readers. Make it easy for you to stay in touch with prospects and customers and vice versa. Ask them to take action and comment on your articles and offers. Conduct polls and surveys. Start a “Letters to the Editor” column in your ezine. Feedback allows you to fine tune your messages, target your marketing, and expand your product line. It’s also great for relationship building!

7.Develop an information product. If you deliver your newsletter once a week and include two articles, at the end of a year you’ll have 104 well-researched articles in your portfolio! Pick the best-of-the-best and turn them into a bonus ebook for opting-in to your list, submit to download sites to build your list, or sell in PDF-format!

8.Grow your mailing list. Let your ezine subscribers work for you. Be sure to remind your readers that it’s okay to forward your newsletter to anyone they’d like. In addition, it’s important to include sign-up instructions for those who received your ezine from viral marketing methods. A simple line titled, “Get Your Own Copy of XXXXXX”, with a link to your squeeze or opt-in page is all it takes!

9.Gather demographic data. By offering surveys, feedback forms, and niche reports, you’ll be able to get valuable information about your prospects and customers. Learn what makes your readers tick, how to better serve them, and how to give them what they want. Make sure they become repeat customers!

10.Save money! All of the above benefits of publishing an ezine are free or almost free. The small cost of a top-rated ezine publishing system is nothing compared to the cost of brochures, business cards, advertising, direct mail, pay-per-click or other means of promotion. Not only that, but someone has to manage that production! Because your newsletter is delivered online, you can grow your list to be as large as you want without worrying about the expense. Bottom line − it’s proven that email marketing is the most cost-effective marketing solution for companies just like yours!

Why?

Personal Branding and exposure.

Understanding basic blog seo is essential if you are ever going to see your blogging efforts produce any real results. Along with social media, SEO (search engine optimization) and gaining the respect of the top 3 major search engines: Google, Yahoo and MSN, is going to allow you blog to bring you tons of fresh new leads and position yourself as a leader within your industry.

Doing seo is not as hard as most people want you to think that it is. They just don’t want you to know the simple secrets to getting massive amounts of traffic so they can try and dominate everything. The fact of the matter is that there are infinite keywords and keyword phrases that you can target to get top rankings.

Here are 5 basic blog seo tips that will get you content on the way to producing results.

Seo For Blogs Tip #1

Keywords- This is the bread and butter of the content that you are going to be posting. You MUST and I repeat MUST be targeting a specific keyword or keyword phrase If you are going to play the search engine game. This is really the fun part for me. When you think of a topic that you want to write a post about you must find a keyword phrase to target. I prefer using a phrase (more than one word) than just using a single keyword.

When you have a topic you want to blog about you should go over to the google keyword tool, type in that keyword phrase and look for phrases that are getting a good amount of searches. When you find a phrase that is getting a good amount of searches go to google and type in “your phrase” in quotes and see how many site are competing for that keyword. You want to stay below 100,000 and above 10,000 reason being: over 100,000 is too hard to rank and below 10,000 usually means there is not much need. * There are exceptions*

When you find that good mixture of competition and searches use that keyword phrase as your main keyword to work your blog post around.

Seo For Blogs Tip #2

Title- Before you ever start writing your blog post you have to create a title, it seems almost like a no-brainer but so many people really skip how powerful the title is. I am not talking about how catchy the title is even though that is extremely important, I am talking about an SEO rich title.

The title of your blog post has to have your main keyword phrase in it. Take this article for example, my main keyword phrase is “seo for blogs” and as you can see I have used it in my title. Every simple little piece of the puzzle will lead you down the path of success when it comes to blogging.

Seo For Blogs Tip #3

Permalinks- This is the link that you assign to your post. This is absolutely essential to really optimize your blog. I have seen studies showing that having a permalink with your main keywords can produce a 55% increase in your organic search engine rankings.

When the search engines visit your blog, you have to remember that they are trying to find the most relevant content for their searchers, and when your title and your permalink both have your main keyword phrase it just shouts…”RELEVANT”

Seo For Blogs Tip #4

Keyword Density- Keyword density is how many times that your main keyword or keyword phrase is displayed in your content. This is as important as the last 2 steps as the engine spiders are still looking for relevancy when they get to your content. The best advice I can give you from my experience and through the studies that I have done is 4-7%. Which means that the amount of times that you can use your keyword should only be 4-7% of your total text.

If you under use your keyword, you will not have the relevancy and if you overuse your keywords you can potentialy be banned from the search engines for “keyword stuffing”

Seo For Blogs Tip #5

Inbound Links- After you have your title, permalink, keywords and the right amount of keyword density you are going to want and start building inbound links to your content. An inbound link is a link that is on another site that is directed to your content.

There are a handful of ways to get inbound links to your piece of content which I will not cover in this article but just realize that the more links that you have coming to your piece of content, the more important that search engine spiders will think that your content is and they will rank you accordingly.

That is it, those are the basics of putting together a successful blog post that will provide endless amounts a new leads on autopilot until the end of time.
The thing that most people do is start a blog, write a couple posts and when that doesn’t make them a millionaire overnight they say that it does not work and they give up.

I have only been blogging seriously for the past four months and I am really blown away by the response that I am seeing with this strategy. Since I am relatively new to the whole blogging arena, I have had to spend a great amount of time learning how it all works.

It is very frustrating when you first get started because although you are putting in the work, you are not really seeing any results. Blogging is like anything else in the fact that if you continue to work at it, you will get better and your results will start to grow. As your blog begins to grow, blogging will become easier and you will begin to see more monetary results.

Lets Get started.

The first thing that you need to be doing is creating valuable original content. A blog is a content site, and if you are not providing first rate content, no matter how much traffic you can pull into your blog you will see no results.

When it comes to blogging you have to be consistant, you have to be posting content on a regular basis. You want the search engines to be running through your site as much as possible. The search engines want feed on content so if you continue to provide it, they will continue to rank you accordingly. Consistancy Is Powerful.

Search Engine Optimization-

Face it. Google, Yahoo and MSN are the kings of the internet world and if someone is looking for a piece of information it is a safe bet that they will be going to one of these sites to find the information that they seek. You need to make sure that your blog is setup for success from the start.

All in 1 Seo Pack is a wordpress plugin that will allow you fill in the blanks and optimize your blog for the search engines. It automatically places the title, description and keywords into the background of your blog in the right places.

Social Media

Second to search engines comes social media. Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Friendfeed and countless other social sites are powerful powerful stuff to get your blog noticed. When you start using social media to promote your blog it allows all the spiders from the search engines to find your “stuff” much easier.

Most social media sites allow you to have a link in your profile, use that space to link to your blog so that when people come to find out a little bit more about you, they are send directly to a blog that shows them all the value that you have.

As you develop more friends or contacts in social media keep an eye on what they are talking about, if they are asking questions you should be using your blog posts to give them answers and this will postion you and your blog a a source of information. As your social media friends visit your blog for answers have them leave a comment so that those pesky search engines will see new content on your blog.

Social Bookmarking

If you really want to harness the power of social media then I highly suggest using the OnlyWire plugin. This simple plugin will allow you to post to over 25 different social media sites with the click of a button. I have had results of hitting #2 in Google within 14 minutes using OnlyWire.

Blog Commenting.
This is a great strategy to use for a couple reasons. The first thing is that it will give you a direct way to get exposure. People will see your face and the added value that you have brought to the post and they will click to see who you are and what you have to offer.

The second thing is that it will give you a one-way link back to your site. When you have links back to your site the search engines see it as a site of importance and will give you a little more seo juice.

Blog Carnivals

Blog carnivals are a great source of traffic. Although most people don’t know anything about blog carnivals they are really pretty simple. All they really are is a community of links that are grouped into different topics. If you are searching a blog carnival for a specific topic, there will be a list of links that are targeted to that specific keyword. If you are using the all-in-1 Seo pack then you will have the keywords to send traffic to your blog.

Blogroll

This is again something that most people do not pay much attention to. A blogroll is simply a list of other related blogs on your site. As you gain more and more contacts and followers, just ask them if they want to “swap” links. As you build a network of people you will have your blog link on more and more other blogs giving you more exposure.

Utilizing Your List.

This is one of those things that I noticed very early in my internet marketing career. As you are building a business you must be building a list, you should know that the money is in the list. When you create a post that has a ton of value, a quick way to get people to your blog is to send out an email blast to your list with a link to your post. Don’t forget to tell them to leave a comment and share it with their followers on their social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.
Inside this article I am going to share with you five steps to creating a blog that you can profit with you almost overnight.

Making money with your blog is a fairly simple process and the startup cost can be less than ten dollars.

.

Step One:

Find a Host Site.

If you are looking to do long term blogging, then you should host your own with a site like Wordpress.Org, but if you are just getting started you may want to start out with one of these free sites ill you really get the hang of things.

Blogger.com
Wordpress.com
Typepad.com
Livejournal.com
Blog.com

Step Two:
Pick Your Niche.

Once you pick a site that you want to host your blog from, you need to decide on what you are going to blog about. This is the single most important part about getting a blog started. If you are going to have a successful blog, you must pick one topic and be consistent with it. People don’t like to read random topics on the same blog.
.

Step Three:
Purchase a domain name.

If you are going to be using one of the free sites they tend to have long domain names that most people just can’t remember. You want to pick a name that is interesting and congruent with the content of your blog. This is really the only cost when it comes to starting up a blog. Getting the URL with forwarding will only cost you around $3.00 to $10.00.

.
Step Four:
Personalize your blog.

It is much easier to build a relationship with your readers when they can physically see who they are communicating with. Building relationships and trust is key to having a successful blog, your readers will continue to read your posts.

.
Step Five:
Add content.

This is the part that most people fail to keep up with. Blogs take time to really sink in and it may be a long time before you ever see a strong readership. Sometimes it will take 6 months or more of consistent blogging to really build your presence in your niche community.

Follow those five steps and in time you will become a star blogger in your niche.
