Today I decided that I need to start digging a little harder to accomplish some of the goals that I had put together for myself in 2011. The year is halfway over and you and I still have big things in mind.
So what I figured I would do, was go back to the basics and redo some of the most basic but important aspects of my business.
The first few things I wanted to look at was my goals for the rest of the year, the amount of days left in the year and my daily method of operation for completing those goals in the time that I have.
I want to go into 2012 with my business being more solid than it ever has been, so I am going to get hard at work now. There are really some MAJOR things that I want to change in the 6-12 months that will require me to step out of the box a little further, concentrate and really focus my energy where it is needed most.
Today I am going to share with you how to setup your daily method of operation, so that you can put this in place in your business and start to be more consistent in your business. Really, those who are more consistent in their business are going to develop habits that are going to alter their business in a huge way over a period of time.
What is a daily method of operations?
You daily method of operations (DOM) is the plan that you follow every single day to help accomplish your goals. Every one has goals, but not everyone has a plan put together to accomplish those goals.
Your DOM is pretty much the same as a to do list. I like to use a simple spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel and create a list. There are many ways to do this, but this is how I prefer it.
Simply make a list of all the marketing strategies that you want to employ into your business across the top (i.e writing articles, shooting video, Facebook, Craigslist) and everyday look to your DOM and see what you have to get done for the day.
Too much time is wasted when you log on to your pc, and have to sit and think about what you want to be doing or what needs to be done. Knowing exactly what you need to be doing every single day, will help you dramatically stop wasting time.
