Shared vs. Applied Value- Which One Produces Results

After about two years in this industry I have amassed a great deal of wisdom and skills about a handful of different strategies, methods, solutions and tools. But there is one thing that I have found that is being missed by most people who come into this industry.

I am not going to sit here and tell you about attraction marketing, marketing funnels, twitter marketing, face book marketing or any of those things. You can actually find them on every blog in this industry, including mine.

This post is actually going to break the monotonous drone of so called “coaches and leaders” and share something much more powerful, and much less frustrating when trying to achieve results.

What I am going to talk to you about today is applied value vs. shared value. I am pretty sure that you have never read about anywhere else. Why? Because most people don’t actually have a clue what it is, or that they are doing it. Which is why you are reading about it right now.

So, what is it?

First things first. If you have been in this industry very long I am almost positive that you have heard the this quote “you must give value”, but what does that really mean. Truthfully, it is becoming knowledgeable. People trust doctors because they have taken the time to master their skill, they have spent years in medical school learning how to decipher the human body so that they can prescribe a solution to the problem.

This is exactly who you must become, the doctor of the industry, the person that everyone seeks for the solution to their problem. Even further, people are not looking for doctors who have read a book about doing a heart transplant or brain surgery. They want a doctor who has performed those procedures again and again, an expert in their field. No one will trust a doctor without experience with their life, why would someone trust a distributor who has read a book with their future and the dollar.

Applied value is simply this: understanding a specific concept or strategy and taking immediate action on that strategy and molding it to fit within your needs to accomplish a goal. I.e Learning a marketing strategy and actually putting it into action to generate more leads or acquire new customers.

Applied value in this industry seems to be the road less taken. More and more people are constantly learning how to do something and almost never following through with the reason that they learned it. Which is, to do it. What they are actually doing is what I like to call shared value.

Shared Value is simply this: learning how to do something, and turning around and regurgitating the same exact message as your own. This is a critical mistake when it comes to being successful in this industry. I am not saying that as you learn something new that you should not share that value with others, but relying on shared value as a way to build an organization will put a wall in your potential.

You have to be willing to go out on the front lines and take massive action to see massive results. This is a two-fold strategy in my eyes. You first have to apply the value to generate the leads and then share the value with them.

Applied value and shared value together is a 7-figure business model, alone by themselves will leave you broke and wandering why things did not work out for you in this industry.

The point of these two simple concepts is this: If you want to make big things happen in your business and your life you must go out there and take action on what you are learning and record the flaws and mistakes of your actions.

By recording and sharing the flaws and mistakes and victories, you become the applied knowledge while everyone else hit’s the wall by being in the “shared knowledge” crowd by spinning your message.
